Receipts reimagined
Personal Project
2026
EXPERIMENTS
I reimagined the ordinary receipt to shift the experience from disposable to keepsake by simply changing the paper stock.
There are few objects as ordinary and disposable as receipts and yet there are people who collect them as physical reminders of good times had. However, because receipts use thermal ‘ink’ they fade quickly making it just as temporal as the memory it's supposed to hold.
These reimagined receipts are instead printed on paper whose thickness, uncoated texture and warm colour contrasts the thin, cold and plasticy paper of current receipts and thus shifts their connection with disposability.
Supporting this new experience, receipt designs can be more playful and engaging, showcasing distinct brand personality to encourage people to focus on more than just how much they spent.
